The Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YST), National University of Singapore, offers a unique and adventurous 21st century Asian environment in which we train and educate performers, composers and recording engineers to take advantage of future professional and artistic opportunities both in Singapore and in the world. The Conservatory is distinctively international in terms of its faculty, student population and artistic outlook. Our mission is to be a focal point for musical activity, artistic development and research, both for Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region.

The Conservatory is seeking a full-time Technical & Operations Executive or Senior Executive. The role involves assisting in the planning, coordination and professional execution of all technical aspects of performance, rehearsal and academic activities within the Conservatory building for both internal and external events. The Technical & Operations Executive will work closely with the production team (led by the Artistic Coordinator), faculty, visiting artists and students to ensure the seamless delivery of each production and academic activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for productions and academic activities including but not limited to classes, rehearsals and performances.

  • Assist in setting up and coordinating technical requirements, including resource and manpower planning.

  • Manage crew scheduling, training and performance.

  • Liaise with external suppliers as required.

  • Support the maintenance, renewal and procurement of technical equipment.

  • Ensure compliance with technical, operational and safety regulations.

  • Ensure that all technical aspects are carried out in a professional manner, contributing to the overall success of events.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Diploma or degree in Theatre Production/Arts Management/Music Performance or related field. A classical music background would be an advantage.

  • Basic knowledge of stage equipment and production.

  • Early career professionals with a passion for technical production are encouraged to apply.

  • Adapt and respond quickly to unforeseen challenges, resolving issues quickly and efficiently.

  • Collaborate effectively with diverse teams and maintain respectful and clear communication with all stakeholders.
