Role Overview
Responsible for providing both day-to-day technical support (onsite and remotely) for end users, including hardware, software and network issues. This role involves troubleshooting, installing, configuring and maintaining end-point devices to ensure minimal downtime for the users.
Role Responsibilities
Incident / Request Management :
- Provide 1st or 2nd line support to end users, both via phone, email or walk-in.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware, software or network related issues on desktops or notebooks.
- Collaborate with other IT Teams to resolve or implement solutions.
- Install and configure the end-point operating systems.
- Manage and administer user access controls and permissions and ensure that they are aligned to the corporate policies.
- Perform regular maintenance on the operating system to ensure that the systems are updated with the latest security updates.
- Assist in IT project implementation and other improvement initiatives, as assigned.
Document Management
- Maintain accurate documentation of issues and resolutions in the ticketing system.
- Maintain the procedural documents to ensure that they are accurate and up-to-date.
Onboarding and Offboarding Administration :
- Prepare the desktops/notebooks for new hires prior to their work commencement.
- Issuance of desktops/notebooks.
- Provide briefing to new hires.
- Collection of desktops/notebooks upon employees' end of service.
Training
- Provide user training and guide users on best practices.
- Maintain user training materials to ensure they are up-to-date.
- Administer & conduct the training programs, including the IT induction for new hires and Lunch and Learn training program.
Procurement & Asset Management
- Assist to liaise with vendors on procurement of desktops/notebooks and accessories.
- Maintain an accurate IT asset inventory.
Education Qualification
- Bachelor in Information Technology or Computer Science, or a related field with 2 – 3 years of relevant experience, or
- Diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science, or related field with 4 - 5 years of relevant experience.
Relevant Experience
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of IT Support experience.
- Good knowledge of Windows Operating System, Network troubleshooting, Remote support tool, and Microsoft suite, including O365, Teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Positive attitude.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to issue resolution.
