Job summary

SMRT Corporation is seeking an Assistant Engineer to plan, supervise and lead a team of Technical Officers in scheduled preventive maintenance on Trainborne Signalling & Communication Systems, per procedures. You will also manage corrective maintenance, duty rosters, training, safety compliance, and maintain documentation in the maintenance management system across NSEWL depots.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and supervising a maintenance team.
• Familiarity with maintenance documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and lead a team of Technical Officers to perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks in accordance with Quality Procedures and Work Instructions.
• Plan, supervise and lead a team of Technical Officers to perform Corrective Maintenance including troubleshooting, investigation, and fault rectification on Trainborne Signalling & Communication Systems.
• Plan, supervise and lead a team of Technical Officers to perform modifications or tasks in compliance with approved method statements or work instructions.
• Plan team duty rosters in consultation with the Engineering Maintenance Manager.
• Assist in supervising and coaching new staff and conducting on-the-job training.
• Disseminate any instructions and procedures issued by supervisors to the team members.
• Perform all necessary maintenance administration and documentation (E.g. Record faults reported, raise maintenance work orders, complete work orders in the maintenance management system and any other recording system).
• Interpret electrical, electronic and computer network single-line drawings.
• Operate Test Equipment, Instruments and Tools safely.
• The Assistant Engineer is responsible for the safety of his team. He is to comply with all Safety Procedures and exercises safety at all times. Report any safety concerns at the workplace.
• Perform the role of Person-in-Charge (PIC) and Possession Mater (PM) duties and responsibilities where applicable.
• Undertake any other tasks or functions that are incidental or ancillary to the performance of the works as assigned by the supervisor.
