TEAM LEAD (TRADE)

Main function: We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented head haul Trade team Lead to oversee pricing strategy and execution across designated container trade lanes.

Purpose of the role: This role ensures competitive pricing, optimal yield management, and alignment with market trends and customer needs in China / Southeast Asia region.

What you'll be doing

1. Assist Head of Trade to lead the head haul trade team and oversee pricing strategy and execution.
2. Establish minimum rate guidelines (MRG) to balance yield optimization with volume targets.
3. Analyze market trends, competition, and demand patterns to support dynamic pricing strategies.
4. Manage dead freight optimization and participate in slot procurement to ensure cost-efficient operations.
5. Maintain up-to-date agency agreements in internal systems for compliance.
6. Compile and update slot cost data; reconcile billing statements and verify invoices.
7. Manage global tender processes (RFI & RFQ), deliver precise costings, and align proposals with business objectives.
8. Conduct margin analysis and performance tracking by trade lane, customer segment, and service level.
9. Lead system development and implementation as appointed Team Lead, improving operational efficiency.
10. Participate in annual budgeting activities with team members.
11. Foster a supportive team culture through effective internal communication.
12. Ensure adherence to corporate governance principles and regulatory requirements, maintaining zero tolerance for non-compliance with risk policies.

What we're looking for

1. Minimum 5 years of experience in Liner sales, and regional markets of liner shipping/NVOCC.
2. Diploma/Degree in Maritime/Supply chain/Business or other related discipline.
3. Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in quantitative analytics.
4. Proven ability to identify and capitalize on business opportunities, achieve efficient supply chain management, and navigate complex market dynamics.
5. Familiarity with corporate governance principles, legal and regulatory requirements, and sustainability principles.
6. Excellent organizational and people management skills, with a track record of making sound decisions under pressure.
