Job description

Scope of Work for Team Lead

1. Major duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate is:

a. To develop, perform unit-test on solutions, execute built-code for testing, perform system Integration/Regression Test and other tests required by the Authority prior to rollout of applications.

b. To collaborate with multiple stakeholders (e.g., Product Owner) to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements for the development team.

c. To direct and guide the development team in various aspects of the software development life cycle, development, coding, testing and debugging to deliver solutions.

d. To work with Project Manager or Authority on development requirements and implementation timeline.

e. To perform post-rollout maintenance work such as solving of problem reports, providing solutions on bug fixes and change requests.

f. To plan and produce the necessary technical documentation for features or modules developed and update specification document, test plan and procedures.

g. To conduct User Acceptance Tests (UAT) prior to rollout of applications.

h. To conduct end to end system testing to ensure applications conform to user requirements.

i. To install, configure, test, implement and fine-tune all the integration points and interfaces between various modules, any selected third-party software and other external applications/systems.

j. To ensure deliverables are in accordance to user and authority requirements.

k. To assist and manage on-the-ground operations with developers. i.e. Task allocation and sprint planning.

l. To perform other ad-hoc activities as required by the Authority.

m. To explore new technologies and assess them.

2. Pre-requisite for Team Lead

2.1 Required Competencies

a. The candidate(s) should possess a Degree in computer science, computing, electrical engineering, IT or equivalent.

b. Experience in application development using four or more of the following skills:

  • ReactJS / NodeJS
  • React Native
  • SQL related database
  • Java
  • Spring

c. Experience in handling system-to-system backend interfaces is highly preferred.

d. Experience in object-oriented analysis, design, System Development Life-cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodology.

e. Experience in software and UML modelling tools is preferred.

f. Good knowledge of information technology, especially in the areas of translating user requirements to system architecture design, application flow and database design.

g. Proficient in spoken and written English.

h. Ability to write clean, well-documented code.

i. Excellent in analytical skills, complex problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

j. Good Team player, responsible, independent and pro-active.

k. Good in coordination, communication and presentation skills.

l. Proficiency in Office productivity suites such as MS office and MS project.

2.2 Required Working Experience

a. Minimum 3 years of experience in four or more of the following skills:

i. ReactJS / NodeJS

ii. React Native

iii. SQL related database

iv. Java

v. Spring

b. Minimum 3 years of experience in software or web-based application development, application deployment and implementation, conducting of user acceptance test and system to system testing.

c. Knowledge and Experience in web or mobile application development, system testing and implementation would be preferred.

d. Experience in the Government System or any learning systems would be preferred.
