Job summary

A prominent financial institution in Singapore is seeking a seasoned compliance leader with 8-10 years of financial industry experience. The successful candidate will lead regulatory gap analysis, oversee compliance training, and liaise with local regulators. Proficiency in Chinese/Mandarin is required. Qualifications

  • 8 to 10 years of experience in the financial industry with good regulatory compliance experience.
  • Good understanding of MAS Notices and Guidelines.
  • Ability to liaise with local regulators is an advantage.

Job Description
  • Lead the team to be responsible for performing gap analysis of new/updated regulatory requirement, Head Office ("HO") General/Regulatory Compliance policy etc.
  • Lead the review and update of Branch General/Regulatory Compliance policy and procedures.
  • Lead the review of Compliance-related (such as Banking Act, Securities and Futures Act, Financial Advisers Act) procedures/SOPs from business lines.
  • Provide advice to business lines relating to Regulatory Compliance queries and act as a liaison with the MAS and other regulatory bodies on regulatory matters.
  • Review New Products, Practices and Technologies from Regulatory Compliance perspective.
  • Conduct Regulatory Compliance trainings and oversee the compliance testing team and ensure the timely remediation by the business units of and gaps or lapses uncovered during the compliance testing.
  • Prepare regular/ad-hoc management reporting.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • 8 to 10 years of more working experience in financial industry, and have good regulatory compliance experiences. Applicants with industry certification (e.g. Diploma in Compliance) would be preferred.
  • Good understanding of MAS Notices and Guidelines relevant to BOCSG business areas.
  • Previous experience in liaison with local regulator would be advantageous.
  • Good working knowledge of the different business segments (Corporate/Retail/Private Bank/Card Business).
  • Good written and communication skills with ability to develop a strong working partnership with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Able to understand Chinese / Mandarin in order to communicate with Head Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team, manage multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Exhibit timeliness, responsibility and is dependable in all work assigned.
