Team Lead for High Containment Facility Management

DMERI's containment facilities including BSL-2/3/4 laboratories, and chemical and radiological laboratories are critical facilities supporting the R&D and operational requirements of the nation's defence against hazardous substances, We are recruiting a motivated and technically skilled individual to lead the team in managing the maintenance of the facilities, with the objective to ensure the reliability and availability of the facilities, and to provide our laboratory users with a safe and secure working environment.

In this role, you will:
• Oversee the maintenance of the facilities to ensure safety, security and availability of DMERI's facility operations
• Develop preventive maintenance strategies and drive cost effectiveness of maintenance activities
• Manage contractor contracts, review contractor performance and resolve conflicts with contractors
• Plan and lead technical upgrade and addition and alteration of facilities to meet long term requirement of the Divisions
• Drive the digitalisation and automation of facility operations
• Lead maintenance team in facility operations, and plan team members' duty rosters for the various laboratories
• Curate training plans for team members, to upkeep their proficiency in maintaining high containment laboratories
• Manage maintenance budget for the facilities
Job Requirements
• Degree / Diploma in Facility Management / Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge in biological, chemical and radiological-safety including authority code requirements
• Experience in designing, developing or managing a BSL-3 facility or other mission critical facilities
• Experience in managing teams of contractors
• Familiar with computerised facility management tools
• Familiar with concept of operations for high containment facilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suites
• Good communication and people skills in managing contractor and laboratory users, and own team
• Proficient in data analytics
