This senior leadership role provides the opportunity to lead a team of coverage bankers and play a pivotal role in sharpening our client coverage strategy for the local large corporate segment. The primary mandate is to manage and deepen existing client relationships while driving new business development across Singapore’s large corporate space. The role reports directly to the Head of Client Coverage, Global Banking Singapore.
Responsibilities
- Lead and strengthen corporate client relationships in Singapore, driving overall account strategy and execution;
- Acquire new clients within the segment, engaging and sustaining strategic dialogues with C-suites, key decision-makers, and shareholders;
- Formulate and execute consistent account plans aligned with Global Banking strategy and targeted portfolio returns; present at credit committees, strategic account planning sessions, and where applicable, to Group Management Credit Committee and/or Board;
- Serve as the primary point of contact for senior executives, ensuring seamless engagement across Maybank Group’s full suite of products and solutions—including business advisory, day-to-day operational needs, KYC, financing, trade, investment banking, M&A, and capital markets;
- Drive cross-selling opportunities across loan origination, treasury/hedging, investment banking, capital markets, trade, and cash/wealth management solutions, leveraging the Bank’s regional network;
- Provide guidance and mentorship to team members in preparing client pitches and coordinating with internal stakeholders for transaction execution.
Requirements
- A good degree with strong relationships with C-suites and senior decision-makers at large local corporates or GLCs, and proven track record in client relationship management;
- 12–15 years of relevant experience in corporate banking, client coverage, or related fields. Current deputy team heads or senior RMs ready to step into a leadership role will be considered;
- Sector expertise in real estate, construction, healthcare, and/or education will be advantageous;
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex client relationships and deliver strategic outcomes;
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior leaders both internally and externally;
- Highly collaborative leadership style, with the ability to foster trust and strong working relationships across functions and geographies.
