Job summary

A leading education service provider in Singapore is seeking a candidate for the Food Preparation & Culinary Lab Management role. This position involves assisting teachers with lesson preparation, maintaining cleanliness of culinary labs, conducting safety checks, and supporting inventory management. Ideal applicants should possess good communication skills, basic math abilities, and preferably have WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1 certification. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in food preparation is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum primary school education required.
  • Preferably WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1 certified.
  • Ideally at least 3 years of relevant food preparation experience within the past 10 years.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers in preparing materials for lessons.
  • Maintain cleanliness of culinary labs and preparation rooms.
  • Conduct daily safety checks on sharp tools and gas stoves.
  • Support teachers in placing weekly orders for food ingredients.
  • Handle ad-hoc purchases of raw food items.
  • Check deliveries of ingredients and supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records.

Job description
Food Preparation & Culinary Lab Management
  • Assist teachers in preparing materials for weekly practical and theory lessons.
  • Maintain cleanliness of culinary labs and preparation rooms daily.
  • Conduct daily safety checks on sharp tools, knives, and gas stoves after lessons.
Inventory Management
  • Support teachers in placing weekly orders for food ingredients, materials, and cleaning supplies.
  • Handle ad-hoc purchases of raw food items from supermarkets or vendors.
  • Check and verify deliveries of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for all culinary stores and reference books.
  • Conduct termly inventory checks and report items requiring replacement.
Student Management
  • Assist teachers in supervising student safety and discipline during lessons.
Administrative Support
  • Prepare materials for weekly lessons.
  • Provide administrative support for ad-hoc duties and school projects.
Requirements
  • Good communication skills, basic mathematical ability, and knowledge of food preparation.
  • Minimum primary school education.
  • Preferably WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1 certified.
  • Ideally at least 3 years of relevant food preparation experience within the past 10 years.
