Job summary

National University of Singapore’s NUS-ISS is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support programme delivery. You will work with lecturers to prepare teaching and assessment materials, run workshop sessions, troubleshoot technical issues, and help manage LMS and capstone/internship activities.

You will assist with data preparation, coding environments, and solution development using Python, SQL, and AI tools, while coordinating schedules and ensuring deadlines are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field; Master’s preferred.
• 3-5 years of relevant industry experience in Data Science, AI, Analytics, software development or related field.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience leveraging AI tools for solution development.
• Strong understanding of data preparation, data visualization, ML concepts and data science tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist lecturers in development and preparation of teaching, laboratory and assessment materials.
• Prepare, test and maintain datasets, code, notebooks and technical environments for course delivery.
• Support workshop sessions and assist students with programming and technical queries.
• Assist with marking assignments and maintain assessment records.
• Manage course materials, announcements, submissions and student records on the LMS.
• Coordinate capstone projects and internship activities, including project allocation and progress tracking.
• Monitor cloud platforms and AI tool credits to support teaching activities.
• Provide administrative support to ensure smooth delivery of programmes.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by teaching team or programme management.

In this role, you will work closely with lecturers to prepare of teaching and assessment materials, facilitate workshop sessions, troubleshoot technical issues, coordinate course schedules, manage learning platforms and support with capstone projects and internship activities. You will also provide administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth delivery of teaching and learning activities

• Support workshop sessions, providing assistance to students on programming and technical queries

• Manage course materials, announcements, submissions and student records on the Learning Management System (LMS)
• Coordinate and support capstone projects and internship activities, including project allocation, progress tracking, presentations and assessments administratio
• Monitor the use of cloud platforms, software environments and AI tool credits to support teaching activities
• Provide administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth delivery of programmes and related academic activities
• Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the teaching team or programme management

What Makes you Shine

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Business Analytics, Information Systems, Software engineering or a related discipline. A relevant Master’s degree is preferred
• 3-5 years of relevant industry experience in Data Science, AI, Analytics, software development or a related field
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience leveraging AI Tools for solution development and productivity enhancement
• Strong understanding of data preparation, data visualisation, machine learning concepts and commonly used data science tools and platforms
• Ability to read, test and troubleshoot code and technical environments
• Experience with cloud platforms, generative AI tools or Learning Management Systems is an advantage
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate projects, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders
