Job description

We are seeking applications for the position to start in January 2026.

Primary Responsibility:

To provide students with a stimulating, challenging, and enjoyable learning experience both in and beyond the classroom, and to offer them the encouragement they need to thrive at SJI International.

The ability to teach a second subject, such as Theory of Knowledge or Physical Education, would be an advantage but is not essential.

Specific Responsibilities:

Teaching and learning

• Identify and adopt effective active, creative teaching approaches aligned with current best practices and the ethos of our school.
• Collaborate with faculty on curriculum planning, assessment, and standardisation processes.
• Create a stimulating learning environment, including displays of student work.
• Teach across various age and ability ranges, from Foundation IGCSE (Grades 7 & 8) to IB Diploma (Grades 11 & 12). We are specifically seeking a specialist in teaching G7 to G10 Mathematics.
• Utilize resources within and beyond Singapore to enhance learning experiences.
• Support students with learning needs in line with school policies.
• Ensure health and safety regulations are followed in the classroom.
• Regularly set and mark homework according to policies.
• Teach study skills to foster independent learning.
• Participate in IB Extended Essay marking process.

Recording and assessment

• Set clear achievement targets.
• Record and analyze assessment data.
• Review student progress systematically.
• Understand and support diverse learning needs to improve achievement.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress through meetings, reports, and emails.

Standards and quality assurance

• Support the school's Catholic, Lasallian ethos.
• Contribute to outdoor education and co-curricular activities.
• Model professionalism in dress, punctuality, and attendance.
• Participate in school events and meetings.
• Uphold behavioral and uniform standards.
• Engage in staff training and performance reviews.

Other duties

All teachers are expected to contribute to service, sport, and activity programs, accompany trips, and support community development. Teachers often serve as Form Tutors.
