Job description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly qualified, and committed educator to join our prestigious international school in Singapore. The successful candidate will teach within a rigorous international curriculum (IB, IGCSE, or equivalent), inspiring students to achieve their full potential in a supportive and academically ambitious environment. Responsibilities
  • Teaching & Learning: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in accordance with the school's agreed policies and guidelines. Use a variety of appropriate teaching methods to ensure high‑quality learning takes place.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development of curriculum and assessment documentation. Provide planning documents identifying specific learning objectives, differentiated tasks, and assessments.
  • Assessment & Reporting: Monitor and document student progress, maintain appropriate records of achievement, and provide reports as necessary. Differentiate the curriculum to cater for a diverse range of learning needs.
  • Pastoral Care: Share in the management of pastoral care, health, welfare, and behavior of all students. For secondary positions, typically serve as a form tutor and take an active role in the co‑curricular programme.
  • Classroom Management: Be responsible for all aspects of classroom management, including supporting the academic, social, and emotional needs of all students in a positive and proactive manner. Create an interesting and lively classroom that promotes independent learning.
  • Professional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, sharing expertise and respecting confidentiality. Attend and contribute to meetings as required. Participate in Professional Learning and appraisal procedures.
  • Safeguarding: Be an advocate for student wellbeing, supporting a culture of safeguarding and child protection. Be familiar with safeguarding reporting procedures and follow protocols in the case of a child protection issue.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Education or relevant subject area, or a Bachelor Degree followed by a PGCE, obtained from a recognized University or College.
  • Certification: Professional teaching certification specific to the applied position is required. Teachers' Certificates, Diplomas, or other Teacher Accreditation courses are required if the applicant's degree is not in Education.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years relevant professional teaching experience. For senior positions, experience with IGCSE, IBDP, or equivalent curricula is highly valued.
  • Curriculum Knowledge: IB PYP, MYP, DP, or IPC training and experience are highly valued. International experience, especially in Asia, is highly regarded.
  • Personal Attributes: Passion for teaching, ability to inspire young people from all backgrounds, team player, enthusiasm, creativity, and respect for diversity and inclusive practices.
