Job summary

A leading company is seeking a Detention Sessions Coordinator to oversee student management and disciplinary actions from August 2025 to December 2026. Key responsibilities include supervising detention sessions, maintaining operations at the Student Management Centre, and collaborating with the Student Management Team for case follow-ups.

Job description

Contract Period:

  • 1 Aug 2025 to 31 Dec 2026 (17 Months)

Deployment:

  • Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30am to 4:30pm, including a 1-hour lunch break.
  • Fridays: 7:30am to 4:30pm, including a 1-hour lunch break.
  • Not required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays.

Scope of Work:

1. Detention Sessions (DS) Coordinator - Assist HOD & SH Student Management to:

  • Supervise DS from Monday to Friday, after school until 4:30pm;
  • Implement, monitor, and supervise DS procedures, ensuring consistency;
  • Follow-up with defaulters;
  • Maintain and compile detention records and data;
  • Report detention attendance to Form Teachers (FTs);
  • Use DS as an effective deterrent for truancy and lateness.

2. Maintain smooth operations of the Student Management (SM) Centre:

  • Manage operations and data records at the Student Management Centre (including loan and issue of items, lost and found, early leave, attending to unwell students, updating attendance records, etc.)
  • Attend to students' drop-ins during and after school hours, liaising with teachers, Year Heads (YH), Heads of Department (HOD), and School Leaders (SL) as needed.

3. Case Management and Follow-up:

  • Collaborate with Student Management Team to monitor students under disciplinary measures;
  • Update HOD/YH/SL on issues related to students and discipline;
  • Follow up on students involved in disciplinary actions, such as supervising assignments, suspensions, detention, etc.;
  • Monitor student movement daily through sign-in/out procedures;
  • Assist HOD and YH in following up with frequent absentees;
  • Participate in house calls and home visits;
  • Coordinate with Police and relevant authorities regarding student issues.

4. Maintain School Tone:

  • Work with School Management and Operations Managers to ensure security and uphold school discipline;
  • Conduct regular patrols inside and outside the school;
  • Monitor non-structured hours to prevent disruptive behavior;
  • Check visitors and liaise with staff to attend to their needs.
