Job Title :IGCSE / IBDP / ESL English Teacher

Job Purpose :To deliver high-quality English language and literature instruction across IGCSE and IBDP levels, while also supporting English as a Second Language (ESL) learners to achieve academic excellence and linguistic confidence within an international learning environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Teaching & Learning

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme (Language & Literature / Literature) frameworks.
• Support ESL students through differentiated teaching methods and tailored learning materials.
• Develop and implement lesson plans that foster critical thinking, creativity, and a love for language and literature.
• Integrate technology and inquiry-based learning to enhance classroom engagement.
• Monitor and assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback.

Curriculum & Assessment

• Contribute to the development and review of the school’s English curriculum in line with IGCSE and IBDP standards.
• Prepare students for internal and external examinations through targeted skill development and exam practice.
• Maintain accurate records of student achievement and contribute to school reports.

Student Support

• Identify and provide targeted support for ESL learners to strengthen their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
• Create an inclusive learning environment that celebrates linguistic and cultural diversity.
• Mentor students in academic and personal development, fostering confidence and self-expression.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments to promote cross-curricular literacy and inquiry-based learning.
• Participate actively in departmental meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide initiatives.
• Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and learning strategies.
