Job summary

Talent-Merge is seeking a Marine Engineer to oversee the day-to-day technical performance and operational readiness of assigned tanker vessels in Singapore. You will coordinate repairs, dry-docking, surveys, and upgrades to ensure safe and compliant operations.

You will review defects, manage budgets, work with Masters, shipyards, and suppliers, and provide technical guidance to crew while travelling as required.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering or related technical discipline; certification is a plus.
• At least 2 years in marine engineering, tanker operations, or shore-based superintendent roles.
• Strong knowledge of tanker machinery, maintenance systems, and class/regulatory requirements.
• Ability to coordinate repairs, vendors, shipyards, and maintenance budgets.
• Good analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills; able to travel.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day technical performance and operational readiness of assigned tanker vessels.
• Monitor machinery, equipment condition, maintenance activities, and reliability.
• Coordinate repairs, dry-docking, surveys, upgrades, and maintenance projects.
• Review defects and failures, implement corrective actions promptly.
• Control expenditure and monitor parts and operating costs versus budgets.
• Collaborate with Masters, Chief Engineers, shipyards, and suppliers on technical matters.
• Ensure vessels meet class, flag, statutory, environmental, safety, and company requirements.
• Assess inspections and audits, follow up on improvement measures.
• Arrange sourcing and delivery of critical spare parts and services.
• Provide technical guidance to crew and support fleet performance initiatives.
