Job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Tank Calibration Specialist to ensure the accurate measurement and calibration of storage tanks, vessels, and related instruments.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in calibration techniques, metrology, and compliance with industry standards (such as API and ISO standards).

This role involves field inspections, data analysis, and maintaining calibration records to ensure precision and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform calibration of storage tanks and other liquid/gas containment systems using industry-standard methods (e.g., Strapping, EODR, optical reference line and liquid calibration).
  • Conduct field inspections and measurements to record tank dimensions, and structural dimension.
  • Analyse calibration data and generate reports with recommendations for adjustments or repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with API MPMS, ISO 7507, and other relevant standards.
  • Maintain calibration logs, certificates, and documentation for audits and regulatory requirements.
  • Operate calibration tools (e.g., total stations, 3D laser scanners, tape measures, temperature instrument).
  • Provide training to junior technicians on calibration procedures and safety protocols.
  • Stay updated with advancements in calibration technology and industry best practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years in tank calibration, metrology, or petroleum/chemical storage operations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in software (e.g. CAD, 3D Software, and VCF Correction).
  • Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings / specifications.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work at heights, confined spaces, and outdoor environments.
  • Soft Skills: Communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
