Job Duties
  1. Under general supervision, participate in planning and conducting sample preparation and laboratory testing on metallic, non-metallic, and/or welding materials and components.
  2. Apply knowledge of test procedures and techniques, debug test setups, and troubleshoot tools and equipment.
  3. Document test procedures, data, observations, and results.
  4. Utilize knowledge of metallic, non-metallic, and/or welding materials and processes, and their application to components.
  5. Apply expertise in materials or welding quality control inspection techniques, mechanical test equipment, and test instrumentation.
  6. Acquire parts for prototypes, collaborate with manufacturing, and assist in the release of new materials and processes into production.
  7. Assist in resolving materials or welding-related field issues to maintain and improve products and services.
  8. Occasionally travel to off-site locations to assist with materials or welding issues, incorporating Reliability, HSE, Quality analysis, and Project Management techniques in all tasks.
  9. Perform job tasks accurately, as they impact cost containment, efficiency, profitability, or operations.
Requirements

Skills are typically acquired through an Associate's degree in a scientific field and 3 years of related experience, or through 5 years of relevant work experience.
