Job Duties
  • Participate in planning and conduct sample preparation and laboratory testing on metallic, non-metallic, and/or welding materials and components under general supervision.
  • Apply knowledge of test procedures and techniques; debug test setups and troubleshoot tools and equipment.
  • Document test procedures, data, observations, and results.
  • Utilize knowledge of materials and welding processes, and their application to components.
  • Conduct quality control inspections, use mechanical test equipment, and operate test instrumentation.
  • Acquire parts for prototypes, collaborate with manufacturing, and assist in the release of new materials and processes into production.
  • Assist in resolving materials or welding-related field issues to maintain and improve products and services.
  • Occasionally travel to off-site locations to support materials or welding issues, incorporating Reliability, HSE, Quality analysis, and Project Management techniques.
  • Perform job tasks accurately to impact cost containment, efficiency, profitability, or operations positively.

Requirements:

Skills are typically acquired through completing an Associate's degree in a science-related field and 3 years of related experience, or through 5 years of relevant work experience.
