Japanese companies’ HR departments are currently undergoing a significant transformation. Japanese companies are increasingly tasked with building strategic and efficient organizational structures and talent management systems to address challenges such as globalization, technological advancements driving innovation, a shrinking domestic workforce, and the need to attract and develop digital talent. HR departments must also create work environments that are supportive and fulfilling for each employee to enable continuous talent acquisition, development, and productivity growth.
We are seeking consultants who can support large Japanese companies in revisiting their HR functions, focusing on data-driven HR, advanced HR functions through IT, individualized HR management, transformations for digital talent recruitment and development, and global strategic HR.
Meanwhile, Japanese companies operating in Southeast Asia have also faced drastic HR system changes in recent years. Japanese companies have had a presence in Southeast Asia for decades, but as business stages evolve over time, the HR systems that were initially exported from Japan now require transformation. There is a growing demand for transformations led by experts who understand Japanese systems rather than simply applying local HR frameworks.
Another shift is the move toward regional optimization. While operations used to be managed independently within each Southeast Asian branch, there is now a trend toward integrating systems and operations across the region. As regional HQs in Southeast Asia increase their influence, many Japanese companies are shifting from Japan-centered HR systems to region-led transformations, further driving demand for our firm’s expertise in Japanese HR systems and organizational management.
Thirdly, in high-growth Southeast Asian companies, there is increasing demand for organizational transformations that align with the pace of company growth, as well as reforms focused on employee growth and engagement.
The Human Capital division is particularly influenced by the diversity of each country’s ethnicity, laws, and business practices, making it an intriguing field. We leverage cloud systems, advanced HR functionality and responsiveness through organizational and operational transformation, and new technologies like RPA and AI for efficiency and streamlining. We also implement digital tools to support diverse workstyles, innovative organizational structures, and talent development, addressing challenges across both HR and business functions.
