Our client, a well-known Japanese company, is looking for candidates for the System Management Specialist position.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure operation and maintenance of internal systems and servers for bank customers.
- Coordinate with vendors and manage contracts (software license renewals, hardware maintenance).
- Prepare operational documentation:
- Collect access logs and report monthly.
- Collect system performance logs and report monthly.
- Perform operational tasks.
- Ensure system configuration complies with the bank's security guidelines during audits.
- Analyze functional requirements and implement changes following established guidelines.
- Work with the team leader to ensure system configuration meets design standards and functional requirements.
- Handle day-to-day user queries related to servers, networks, PCs, and user accounts.
- Address system troubles by taking recovery actions, investigating errors, and proposing improvements.
- Maintain up-to-date system documentation (runbooks, inventory, ID management, system parameters).
- Identify system issues and work on system improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or IT.
- Experience managing and building Windows server systems.
- Familiarity with ITIL concepts and at least three years of experience in operations and maintenance.
- Experience with infrastructure tools (Backup, Monitoring, Anti-Virus, Job management).
- Understanding of Microsoft 365 (Forms, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Office).
- Experience with network configuration (ACL, Firewall).
- Experience working with Japanese companies or projects.
- Technical knowledge at IT Support Level - Tier 3.
- Highly advantageous skills:
- Building Linux/Unix server systems.
- Cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Database management (Oracle, SQL Server).
- Programming skills (PowerShell, Shell Script, VBS/VBA, Python).
- Application development using Power Apps.
- Aptitude:
- Prompt escalation of issues.
- Proactive in identifying operational issues and improving activities.
- Ability to perform workarounds and investigate root causes of system troubles.
Note: Tier 3 technicians aim to find root causes using logs, designs, or specifications. Once identified, they document fixes.
