Job summary

The role focuses on maintaining system resilience, security compliance, and reducing security risks across infrastructure and applications, including IM8 standards. The position also ensures compliance and supports audits, working with IT, infrastructure, and development teams to improve remediation

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or system administration experience.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning, patching, and remediation.
• Exposure to secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular vulnerability scanning on systems, applications and infrastructure; analyse results and prioritise remediation.
• Plan and execute security patching across servers, endpoints and applications; maintain patch schedules and validate remediations.
• Support secure SDLC activities including code reviews and security testing (SAST/DAST).
• Maintain dashboards on vulnerability and patching status and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with IT, infrastructure and application teams; ensure IM8 compliance and support audits.

Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking aSystemEngineer to support enterprise systems by conducting vulnerability assessments, managing patching activities, and overseeing secure software lifecycle practices throughout the year. The role focuses onmaintainingsystem resilience, ensuring security compliance, and reducing security risks across infrastructure and applications. The role also ensures compliance with Government IT security standards such as IM8 and supports audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform regular vulnerability scanning on systems, applications, and infrastructure using industry-approved tools.Analysescan results andprioritisevulnerabilities based on severity and business impact. Validate findings and track remediation status to closure. Work with stakeholders to mitigate security risks ina timelymanner.
• Plan and execute security patching across servers, endpoints, and applications. Ensuretimelyremediation of vulnerabilitiesidentifiedthrough scans or external advisories. Maintain patch schedules and ensure compliance withorganisationalstandards. Conduct post-patch validation to confirm successful remediation.
• Support secure software lifecycle practices (SDLC), including code security reviews and testing. Work closely with development teams toidentifyand remediate security issues early. Conduct security testing (e.g.SAST, DAST) during development and deployment phases. Maintain security testing tools and frameworks.
• Maintain dashboards and reports for vulnerability and patching status. Track trends and recommend improvements to reduce recurring vulnerabilities. Support audits and compliance checks related to cybersecurity controls. Improve scanning, patching, and lifecycle processes through automation.
• 5. Collaboration & Governance Collaborate with IT, infrastructure, and application teams to drive remediation efforts. Provide security advice and best practices across projects. Ensure adherence to internal security policies and regulatory requirements, including IM8 compliance. Manage vulnerability scanning, patching, and lifecycle updates for enterprise platforms including Citrix, Nutanix, Microsoft AD/Entra, NetScaler, and business-critical software such as Autodesk andGraphisoftproducts.

Requirements

Experience:

• 2–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, vulnerability management, or system administration
• Proven experience in vulnerability scanning, patching, and remediation.
• Exposure to secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Citrix environments (VDI, virtual apps/desktops).
• Experience managing Nutanix infrastructure andvirtualisationplatforms.
• Proficiencyin Microsoft Active Directory (AD) including identity and access management.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra (Azure AD) for cloud identity and authentication.
• Experience with Citrix NetScaler (ADC) for secure application delivery and load balancing.
