SQL & Storage Engineer | Veeam, Microsoft SQL, NAS | 8-Month Contract – Singapore PR/Citizens Only

We’re working with a leading Singapore telecommunications provider to hire a SQL & Backup Engineer supporting enterprise-grade Microsoft SQL Server environments, backup operations (Veeam v10+), and NAS storage systems (Dell EMC Isilon preferred).

About the Role:

This is a hands-on operational role where you’ll execute established backup procedures, perform SQL Server maintenance/migrations, and ensure data protection & recovery readiness. You’ll work closely with application, storage, and infrastructure teams to keep business-critical systems running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer Microsoft SQL Server 2012–2022 (maintenance, patching, migrations)
• Run Veeam Backup & Replication (v10+) jobs & restore operations
• Operate enterprise NAS storage (Dell EMC Isilon preferred, others welcome)
• Handle backup tape rotation, inventory, and offsite transfers
• Create basic automation scripts (PowerShell, T-SQL, CMD)
• Troubleshoot backup/storage issues & escalate where needed
• Maintain accurate backup/storage documentation & recovery logs

Must Have:

• Microsoft SQL Server administration experience
• Veeam Backup & Replication expertise
• NAS storage administration
• Tape backup handling knowledge
• Basic scripting skills (PowerShell, T-SQL, CMD)
• Understanding of DR principles & backup validation

Nice to Have:

• Certifications (MCSA/MCSE, Veeam VMCE, Dell EMC Isilon)
• Familiarity with Zabbix, SolarWinds, or other monitoring tools
