Job description

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the systems engineer will provide engineering design, technical configuration, and drawing of various telecommunication systems.

He/She will possess extensive knowledge and experience in engineering design of telecommunication, safety & security, and marine navigation systems covering technologies such as IP Infrastructure, WIFI WLAN, Firewall security, IP-PABX, PAGA, CCTV, VCS, TETRA/DMR UHF/VHF Radio, GMDSS Radio, GEO/MEO/LEO VSAT, IPTV, Radar, Gyrocompass, etc., and provide engineering design, technical configuration, proof of concept, as well as drawing instructions for various telecom systems.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of engineering design, understand client requirements thoroughly, and propose suitable solutions that meet specifications.
• Produce engineering documents (VDRL) and address client comments promptly, ensuring high quality and accuracy.
• Create initial drawings and guide AutoCAD drafters to produce engineering deliverables.
• Incorporate industry standards and best practices into the engineering design, review, and submission processes.
• Supervise in-house technicians during equipment assembly and cabinet integration; implement system configuration, simulation, testing, and verification.
• Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT) for clients and provide in-house training and commissioning support.
• Perform any other ad hoc tasks necessary for business operations.

Requirements

• Diploma in telecommunications or related technical discipline (minimum).
• Proven 4-5 years of experience in a similar role within industrial markets.
• Strong ability to communicate concepts effectively with customers and suppliers.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and leadership capabilities.
• Objective-driven, resourceful, and able to meet deadlines.
• AutoCAD certification is an advantage.
• Site commissioning/radio surveying experience per SOLAS/MODU is an advantage.
• Experience with coverage tools such as CadnaA (PAGA), Ekahau (WIFI), iBwave (UHF/GSM) is an advantage.
