System Design Engineer (Ref.No. R1008924)

at our location in Singapore

You will enjoy having these responsibilities:

1. Develop and review system and subsystem design artifacts to meet Customer requirements (operational and safety requirements in particular)
2. Analyze and evaluate designs to verify compliance with System technical requirements
3. Participate in system performance monitoring and root cause analysis of issues faced in passenger metro operation or during testing using cloud-based data analysis tools
4. Present trade-off analysis, designs and investigations to engineering/management groups in clear, complete, concise and non-ambiguous terms
5. Contribute to productive technical discussions with Customers, Interface Contractors, and other internal departments
6. Support bids and projects in Singapore and in the region including but not limited to Malaysia, Hong Kong and Australia
7. Work in our world class CBTC simulation facility to gain hands-on experience with the signalling system hardware and software, while supporting in-house testing and issue investigations
8. Use and support continuous improvement of our cloud-based data analytics solution in your day-to-day work

You have:

1. Required:
   1. BASc in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, System Design Engineering or equivalent
   2. Curious and willing to learn technical skills fast and on the fly
   3. Good analytical and problem solving skills
   4. Strong communication skills to interface with customers and GTS personnel around the globe
   5. Willingness to collaborate with teams overseas, which requires occasional evening calls
2. Good To Have:
   1. Experience with CBTC System Design, maintenance, operations or testing
   2. Experience with scripting languages like Python, Perl, or Ruby
   3. Previous exposure to some of the technologies we use
