Job description

I. RESPONSIBILITIES

• QAD Database Administrator of Progress production database and mirror database.
• Develop applications using 4GL programming tool in Progress environment.
• Manage change management process to maintain program specification and process flow.
• Maintain program baseline and ensuring good programming practises on version control is adhered to.
• Conduct program unit and integrated system testing to ensure programs developed have met production quality.
• Comply to the established programming practises on standard naming convention, program modularity and code notation to improve clarity.
• Analyse user requirement and adopt System Life Cycle Development methodology in implementing changes.
• Provide Helpdesk Support to ensure user requests and issues are addressed in timely manner.
• Conduct user training on new modules/programs released to users.
• Maintain up-to-date program manual and conduct audit to ensure alignment of actual practise and documented procedures.

II. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 2 to 3 years actual experience in design, development and implementation of the Enterprise Resource Planning systems, preferably in the MFG/Pro systems.
• Minimum 2 years working experience on using Progress database.
• Experience in Microsoft Windows and Internet technologies.
• Able to manage multiple concurrent projects.
• Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills.

III. SPECIALIZED SKILLS

• Experience / Working knowledge of Progress 4th GL
• Experience / Working knowledge of System Development Life Methodologies
• Experience / Working knowledge of Change Management
• Experience / Working knowledge of QAD ERP (Manufacturing)
