System Administrator - Middleware & Infrastructure

We are seeking a skilled and proactive System Administrator to manage, maintain, and support our diverse IT infrastructure.

This role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including server installation, middleware management, backup operations, system monitoring, and cloud infrastructure support. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background across various operating systems, middleware platforms, and virtualization technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Server Installation & Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain servers, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and project requirements. Develop and maintain installation procedures for consistency and efficiency.
• Middleware & Application Support: Manage and support middleware and application software implementations, including WebSphere Application Server, IBM Integration Bus, RabbitMQ, and Solace. Automate application deployment and monitoring tasks to enhance operational efficiency.
• Backup & Recovery Operations: Develop and maintain backup policies and schedules. Perform daily backup operations using IBM Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM), ensuring successful backups and off-site storage as necessary.
• System Monitoring & Maintenance: Monitor system integrity and availability, reviewing logs and verifying completion of scheduled tasks. Apply OS patches and upgrades regularly, configuring new services as needed.
• Security & Compliance: Review and evaluate software security, planning and implementing security patching to safeguard systems.
• Cloud Infrastructure Support: Demonstrate working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including deployment, monitoring, and optimization of cloud resources.
• Technical Support & Consultation: Provide 24/7 technical support, investigating and troubleshooting issues. Develop an in-depth knowledge of system infrastructure and its integration with various applications.

Qualifications/Required experience and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration, with a focus on middleware and infrastructure management.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Red Hat Certified Engineer, VMware Certified Professional, IBM Certified Administrator) are advantageous.
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks.
