Qualifications

Roles & Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Lead engaging swimming lessons based on our Club’s teaching syllabus.
  • Periodically update and improve the Learn-to-Swim (LTS) syllabus to keep it fresh, fun, and effective.
  • Ensure swimmers in your care are safe, supported, and progressing at their own pace.
  • Conduct termly LTS assessments and provide feedback to help swimmers reach their potential.
  • Instill values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and friendship in every lesson.
  • Assist in planning and executing swimming meets and activities.
  • Be the go-to person for parents and members, offering support and answering their queries.
  • Help plan and assist with swimming events and camps.
  • Other duties as assigned to support our swimming community

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 1 year of experience teaching Learn-to-Swim (LTS). Trainee coaches are also welcome to apply!
  • National Registry of Coaches (NROC) Level 1, AustSwim (Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety), or an equivalent certification.
  • A valid First Aid and CPR-AED certification.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with children.
  • Positive work attitude with the ability to collaborate well as a team player.
  • Passion for swimming and a commitment to imparting life skills to children.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work training shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Ability to start immediately is a plus.
