Infrastructure Team

GIC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior Global Infrastructure Project Manager at the VP level to lead cross-functional projects across our infrastructure and security domains. This role is pivotal in driving complex projects while enhancing and streamlining project management processes within the Technology Infrastructure Services (TIS) department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a proven ability to navigate complex environments.

What will you do as a SVP, End User Infrastructure Manager?

The End User Infrastructure (EUI) Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of end-user computing infrastructure across a global financial services organization. This role ensures seamless, secure, and efficient delivery of technology services to employees, supporting critical business operations in a fast-paced, regulated environment. The manager will lead a team of IT professionals, manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with industry standards while driving innovation to enhance user experience and productivity.

End-User Infrastructure Management:

  • Oversee the global deployment, maintenance, and optimization of end-user technologies, including desktops, laptops, mobile devices, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), AVD, W365 and collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft 365, Zoom).
  • Build and Drive the End User Workplace Strategy to take GIC into the future with a seamlessly integrated and well architected End User Device, Voice & Comms and End User Experience Strategy.
  • Ensure high availability and high level of performance of end-user systems to support 24/7 financial operations across multiple time zones.
  • Manage a distributed team of IT support staff and engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance on troubleshooting complex issues and ensure timely resolution of end-user incidents and requests.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce security policies for end-user devices, ensuring alignment with financial industry regulations and cybersecurity best practices (e.g., encryption, multi-factor authentication, endpoint protection).
  • Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to maintain audit-ready systems and processes.

Vendor and Budget Management:

  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors (e.g., hardware suppliers, software providers, managed service providers) to ensure cost-effective, high-quality service delivery.
  • Develop and oversee the budget for end-user infrastructure, balancing operational costs with strategic investments.

Service Delivery and SLAs:

  • Define and monitor service level agreements (SLAs) for end-user support, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid resolution of issues.
  • Leverage ITIL or similar frameworks to optimize incident, problem, and change management processes.

Technology Strategy and Innovation:

  • Partner with senior leadership to align end-user infrastructure with business goals, such as digital transformation and hybrid work initiatives.
  • Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies (e.g., AI-driven support tools, zero-trust architecture) to enhance productivity and security.

Global Coordination:

  • Coordinate end-user infrastructure initiatives across regions, ensuring consistency in tools, policies, and user experience while addressing local regulatory and operational needs.
  • Support a hybrid workforce with flexible, scalable solutions for remote and office-based employees. Deploy global programs with full transparency and oversight and address issues proactively.

Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Utilize metrics and analytics to assess infrastructure performance, user satisfaction, and team efficiency. Build and use a data driven approach to drive Continuous Improvements for the internal stakeholders.
  • Provide regular reports to leadership on system health, project status, and operational improvements.

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP) are a plus.
  • 20+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 3 years focused on end-user computing in a global enterprise environment.
  • Proven track record in the financial services industry, with knowledge of its regulatory and operational demands.
  • Expertise in managing Windows, macOS, and mobile hardware and operating systems, as well as VDI platforms (e.g., Citrix, VMware Horizon) and Mobile Management solutions.
  • Strong understanding of networking, cloud services (e.g., Azure AD, AWS), and endpoint security tools.
  • Familiarity with financial applications (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters) and their infrastructure requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills to manage diverse teams and stakeholders across regions.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on problem-solving and process optimization.
  • Certifications (Preferred): ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or equivalent.
