Job summary

Tangspac Consulting PTE LTD on behalf of a major financial institution seeks a Senior Data Scientist to lead AI and GenAI strategy across Banking, driving enterprise‑scale implementation with a focus on personalization, risk intelligence and operational excellence.

You will co‑lead the AI Center of Excellence, champion high‑value GenAI use cases, and ensure AI solutions are governed and embedded across client‑facing and internal banking functions.

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or related field.
• 12+ years’ experience in AI/ML, with 5–7 years in senior leadership roles, ideally in banking or financial services.
• Deep expertise in ML, Deep Learning, NLP, Reinforcement Learning and GenAI (LLMs, RAG, vector databases, agentic workflows).
• Strong engineering skills in Python, SQL, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), MLOps/LLMOps and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Proven experience building and deploying large‑scale AI pipelines, personalization models, recommendation systems and predictive analytics.
• Strong stakeholder leadership, strategic communication and ability to influence senior executives in a matrixed global organization.
• Solid understanding of AI ethics, regulatory compliance, data governance and risk management in banking.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the bank‑wide AI/GenAI strategy, steering the AI Center of Excellence and prioritizing high‑impact use cases.
• Drive industrialization of AI initiatives, building scalable ML/GenAI models, pipelines, secure APIs and enterprise‑grade architecture.
• Oversee end‑to‑end AI lifecycle including data strategy, model development, deployment, monitoring and continuous optimization.
• Partner with Front Office, Product, Risk, Compliance and Operations to embed AI solutions into core banking platforms and processes.
• Establish AI governance, ethics, transparency and regulatory compliance (GDPR, data privacy, model fairness).
• Champion an “AI everywhere” culture through mentorship, upskilling, partnerships and AI literacy programs.
• Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, translating technical capabilities into business value and navigating a global matrix organization.
