Jobtailor in Singapore seeks a senior actuarial pricing leader to develop and execute APFS strategy across APAC, overseeing pricing, modeling, and risk analysis for asset-intensive lines and longevity products.

You will lead multiple teams, engage with corporate functions on pricing standards, and drive market development while ensuring regulatory and financial standards compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/actuarial field required.
  • Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries or equivalent required.
  • 20+ years actuarial experience in life insurance/reinsurance required.
  • 10+ years management experience required.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills required.
  • Excellent analytical and communication abilities required.
  • Experience with ALM techniques and derivatives knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, recommend, and execute APFS strategy with Business Development counterparts
  • Lead, manage, and direct pricing, structuring, and related activities for new business opportunities across APAC
  • Lead the regional pricing strategy and participate in operational planning, strategic planning, new initiatives, and deal planning meetings
  • Lead pricing, modeling, risk analysis, structuring, and related activities for Asset Intensive, Longevity, Capital Solutions, and specified projects
  • Lead projects and initiatives to develop new market opportunities across APAC, including longevity, PRT, and closed blocks
  • Partner with Business Development to determine client needs, analyze client information, and design transaction terms and structures
  • Provide direction and guidance on developing new markets, structures, and product lines for APFS
  • Serve as primary contact with corporate functions, including Enterprise Pricing and Financial Products, for pricing standards and complex financial product development
  • Represent APFS in corporate and cross-divisional committees or working groups
  • Lead multiple levels of managers across organizational design, talent acquisition, future skills planning, learning and development, career development, performance management, succession planning, and total rewards and recognition
  • Lead discussions on complex or sensitive risk issues with internal and external clients and communicate progress and critical information to senior management
  • Support marketing efforts through client development, article writing, industry presentations, professional committees, and marketing initiatives
  • Ensure pricing integrity for the Regional Pricing team and support in-force management by monitoring treaty experience and incorporating feedback into pricing or financial-return improvements

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, or related field (required)
  • Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries or equivalent actuarial qualification from a globally recognized body (required)
  • 20+ years of actuarial experience in life insurance/reinsurance (required)
  • 10+ years of management experience (required)
  • People leadership skills, including the ability to lead, mentor, develop, and delegate to managers and associates (required)
  • Strong technical and critical thinking skills (required)
  • Ability to implement organizational, divisional and/or departmental vision and goals through leadership, collaboration, creative thinking, focus, and persistence (required)

  • Understanding of asset modeling and ALM techniques, including derivatives and capital markets approaches (required)
  • Financial reinsurance, asset-intensive, or longevity pricing experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of US GAAP, US Statutory, US tax, IFRS, EV, and ICs/Solvency II (preferred)
  • Ability to direct modeling of insurance products and reinsurance structures and enhance analytical capabilities (preferred)
