Data Management Office (DMO)
DMO believes that data is key to responsible innovation, growth, and competitive advantage in the banking industry. Our mission is to leverage our data assets to create value for our customers, stakeholders, and employees. We achieve this by defining and executing enterprise data strategies and transformation, delivering valuable and trusted data to the organisation via the most efficient and responsible manner, ensuring robust data governance via strong enforcement, literacy, and management of emerging data risks and data regulatory compliance, as well as bringing Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) solutions to our business stakeholders to drive monetisation of our data assets.
Responsibilities
- Conceptualise, drive and implement bank-wide AI (and Gen AI) governance strategy, AI governance framework, policy, related standards, procedures and guardrails, in line with the Bank’s business, data and AI objectives as well as evolving industry practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, data engineers, technology, risk, legal and compliance, to integrate AI (and Gen AI) governance practices into the bank's ecosystem.
- Lead the development of AI risk management strategies, such as identification of potential risks and implementation of mitigation measures and guardrails, including for Generative AI models and technologies.
- Lead AI risk assessments, reviews, attestations and AI Model validations, across key AI models of the Bank, ensuring they operate within the defined ethical, regulatory and applicable AI Governance boundaries.
- Perform periodic reporting and updates on AI Governance activities to the AI Governance taskforce, Data & AI Governance Committees and senior stakeholders from the business and control functions.
- Stay abreast of emerging AI regulations, industry best practices, and technological advancements to continuously improve the bank's AI governance strategy, framework and operationalisations.
- Represent the bank in industry forums and regulatory discussions related to AI (and Gen AI) governance.
- Be an agent of change and inculcate AI governance culture and discipline across the Bank’s key AI processes. Provide guidance and training to stakeholders on AI (and Gen AI) governance principles and practices.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's/Master's/PhD degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in AI governance, data governance, or a related field, with at least 12-15 years of working experience in the banking industry or equivalent, or consulting/auditing experience with strong exposure to Financial Services.
- Strong exposure to policy-planning, AI ethics, bias mitigations, privacy, and related financial services regulations.
- Strong understanding of AI technologies and machine learning algorithms with experience in testing AI models and technologies (e.g. Red teaming).
- Demonstrated strategic thinking and good experience of managing senior decision makers.
- Effective influencing and persuasion skills, and ability to obtain consensus at a senior management level.
- Highly skilled in creative problem solving, comfortable with handling ambiguous situations and navigating conflicts with ease.
- Advanced project management, interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage different stakeholders across the Bank.
- Demonstrated ability in spearheading complex bank-wide initiatives, as well as working with regional stakeholders.
