Sustaining Engineering Lead – Manufacturing

Job summary

BD is seeking a Sustaining Engineering professional to join our manufacturing teams in Singapore. You’ll work on sustaining projects, coordinate with platform teams and sites, and ensure regulatory and quality controls are embedded from planning through implementation.

You will collaborate with cross-functional groups to assess capacity, risks and timelines, drive validations and process studies, and help deliver continuous improvements across site operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Project Management, Communications, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, sustaining engineering, process engineering, or product lifecycle support within a regulated industry.
• Experience supporting cross-functional project teams with site execution responsibilities.
• Experience operating in a quality- and regulatory-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as core team member on sustaining engineering projects, ensure site requirements are incorporated into scope, risk assessments, and validation plans.
• Act as the primary point of contact between platform project teams and manufacturing sites, communicating execution needs, risks, constraints, and status.
• Provide site-level input on capacity, timing, and resource availability to support project sequencing and prioritization decisions.
• Coordinate site execution activities, including validations, process studies, engineering work orders, material trials, and line-time planning.
• Monitor site readiness and execution risks, escalating impacts and constraints to project leadership and the PMO to enable timely mitigation.
• Support implementation of sustaining changes such as material or packaging updates, process changes, compliance initiatives, and business continuity projects.
• Ensure completion of required documentation and change control activities for site-impacting changes, including validation documentation, training coordination, and implementation closeout.
• Manage the Sustaining projects portfolio for the sites within the scope of work.
