Job description

    The Sustainability Specialist (Climate Change incl. scope 3) plays a critical role in coordinating and managing initiatives focused on climate change. Your core responsibilities include project management of Scope 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) calculations and climate change strategy, coordination with cross-functional teams for a comprehensive view on climate mitigation, adaptation planning, and data reporting, particularly related to CSRD. You will be involved in developing methodologies, training stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with applicable climate-related laws and standards for the group.As a Sustainability Specialist, your responsibilities will include supervising Climate Strategy by coordinating and managing projects related to climate mitigation and adaptation strategies. You will collaborate with relevant teams to align strategies and develop and implement climate change policies tailored to organizational and regulatory requirements.Additionally, you will lead Scope 3 GHG Emissions Management by working transversally with teams on emissions calculation projects and providing guidance on data collection and reporting. Developing methodologies and training programs to ensure data consistency and accuracy will be part of your responsibilities. You will also coordinate with global and local teams to ensure timely and accurate data submission.Your role will also involve Compliance and Risk Management where you will monitor compliance with climate change regulations, reporting requirements, and standards. You will escalate issues, risks, and instances of non-compliance promptly to the sustainability steering committee and ensure timely submission of climate-related disclosures and responses to regulatory bodies.Key Interactions for this role will include Operations teams, including Operations Excellence and Energy Teams, Purchasing, and Plant Teams.To be successful in this role, you should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field, along with 5-7 years of experience in sustainability, climate change, or environmental management, focusing on GHG accounting and project coordination. Technical expertise required includes a strong knowledge of GHG Protocol, Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, familiarity with climate adaptation and mitigation frameworks, and experience with sustainability reporting tools and standards such as CDP and TCFD. Soft skills like excellent project management and organizational skills, strong interpersonal and communication abilities to engage diverse stakeholders, and an analytical mindset with attention to detail are essential for this role.,
