About ECOM Sustainable Management Services

ECOM Sustainable Management Services (SMS) is ECOM’s specialized body for the last mile delivery of services and products to the rural population contributing to the improvement in yields and net incomes at farm level, to decreasing financial risks through diversification of income streams, and to eradicating zero tolerance points like forced or child labor, dangerous application of agrochemicals, degradation of the environment and deforestation. SMS’ vision translates into three key missions:

• To deliver higher-quality products that enable farmers to increase their overall farm productivity.
• To provide high-value services, including training, input and technology access to improve markets for bottom-of-pyramid participants.
• To create a sustainable, profitable value chain by providing the best services to all stakeholders.

We are looking for a Junior Sustainability Data Lead who will support APAC origin teams and Global Sustainability team with data quality assurance as well as data cleaning, validation and analysis for ECOM SMS programs in APAC.

Key Responsibilities

Support national sustainability managers across APAC on the implementation and management of ECOM SMS programs through the establishment of a robust Monitoring, Evaluation & Communication (MEC) framework, which includes the management of data related to ECOM SMS Verified code of conduct and contributes to ECOM decarbonisation strategies and ECOM compliance with the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

• Responsible for analyzing sustainability-related metrics, tracking progress, and enhancing data collection processes aligning with ECOM automation developments. Align with ECOM automation tools to streamline data collection and reporting processes.
• Support the rolling out of the methodologies and data collections established by the Global SMS, Environmental & Social, Climate and First Mile teams at the local level.
• Set up an implement locally a MEC framework that includes the planning and organizing of data collection for ECOM Environment & Social indicators, carbon accounting, SMS Verified and third party co-funded field projects in APAC countries (China, India, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam).
• Check and control data originated from APAC countries, including logical checks such as realistic crop yields, spatial data checks with GPS and polygon files to avoid duplicate, etc. Monitor the follow-up towards complete data validation with local SMS Leads.
• Analysis of the data collected, and reporting, using appropriate internal and external formats. Standardize communication related to projects and SMS Verified. Create comprehensive dashboards and reports using data visualization tools like Power BI.
• Build capacity internally to implement with success the MEC system in coordination with SMS Leads and Agronomists and other departments if needed.
• Prepare presentations based on data as required and support presenting to partners. Communicate sustainability achievements and initiatives effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
• Make recommendations to improve data quality and efficiency of data systems.
