To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Supply Quality Engineer located in Kallang, Singapore.
What a typical day looks like
- Supplier Selection — Select the suitable supplier with joint effort from sourcing on quality, capability, pricing, delivery, environment, society regulation, etc., against customer requirements.
- Supplier Qualification — Implement the new supplier qualification through capability matching, supplier risk assessment, supplier self-assessment, onsite qualification audit, and qualification database management.
- VEA (Value-Added Engineering Activity) — Understand customer drawings and specifications to feedback value-added engineering proposals to customer and supplier for optimization of supplier manufacturing process or products.
- Material (Component) Qualification — Implement PPAP (FAI). PPAP includes FAI, Material Certificates, Quality/Process Control Plan, FMEA, MSA, Process Parameter Sheet, RoHS compliance, Reliability Test, COC, etc.
- Pilot Run Tracking — Track the quality performance of new qualified parts to ensure they meet customer quality requirements in pilot runs. Drive supplier corrective actions and smoothly transfer pilot runs to mass production.
- Hot Issue Solution and Troubleshooting — Act as Subject Matter Expert to help with supplier quality hot issues and troubleshooting.
- Maintains Audit Support — Assist in annual maintenance audits for existing suppliers with SQE.
- Supplier CIP (Continuous Improvement Program) — Help suppliers use quality tools to improve manufacturing processes and product quality.
- ECO/ECN/SCR implementation — Handle ECO/ECN/SCR requests from customers and follow up where PPAP/FAI is required prior to production.
- Quality with suppliers — Apply knowledge of a company\'s manufacturing processes to improve quality of components and services.
- Quality audits — Perform audits on suppliers to ensure products and services meet ISO and regulatory standards.
- Relationship management — Build and maintain strong relationships with purchasing engineers and supplier systems.
- Cross-functional support — Provide guidance to select, approve and develop suppliers to meet customer and business needs.
- Vendor guidelines — Ensure supplier selection, development, approval and rejection comply with SJM/vendor requirements.
- Process control — Drive assessment of supplier process control plans, measures and activities.
- Data analysis — Use statistical techniques and professional judgment to research data for process improvement.
- Process validations — Develop and guide execution of process validations and tests; document results (protocols/reports).
- Supplier process capability — Guide supplier process capability studies.
- Design of Experiments — Construct DOE to characterize supplier processes and identify root causes.
- Procedures for new/improved processes — Develop and implement procedures for supplier processes.
- Receiving Inspection support — Provide engineering help including statistical research, measurement systems analysis (Gage R&R), and inspection procedures.
- Quality involvement in material decisions — Participate in Material Review Board resolutions for supplier-provided parts and services.
- Supplier Quality System Improvement Plans — Participate in supplier QMS improvement plans.
- Supplier change management — Guide the Supplier Requests for Change process.
- Quality system audits — Perform supplier Quality System audits.
- Corrective and preventive actions — Conduct CAPAs with suppliers.
- Non-conformance analysis — Research non-conformances and supplier performance for KPIs.
- Dock-to-stock monitoring — Monitor dock-to-stock and part selection activities.
- Project support — Provide guidance to project teams for supplied components and supplier qualifications.
- Risk/hazard guidance — Guide teams in identifying risks/hazards related to new product designs, processes, suppliers and applications.
- Safety and operation — Ensure skillful and safe operation of job-related equipment.
- Performance tracking — Rate and monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Supplier management processes — Establish and maintain supplier management processes and tools.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelor degree in a related field.
- Typically requires 4 years of engineering experience in the high technology electronics industry or related field.
- Familiarity with tools for electronic assembly (color code, components, schematics); PCB operations and testing equipment (oscilloscope, cable/harness testing, troubleshooting, logic analyzer).
- Experience with inspection of bare boards, systems, components, cables and harnesses; use of measuring tools; mechanical & electrical tools.
- Demonstrates advanced functional and technical skills and a solid understanding of the function and business.
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and train others on test processes.
