Supply Chain Planner

About the role

Under moderate supervision, plan, schedule, place orders and monitor the movement of material through the production cycle. Coordinate the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering. Responsible for timely replenishment, maintaining healthy inventory levels, business system data input and integrity; while providing updates to both internal stakeholders and customers when required.

What you'll be doing

1. Apply analytical and statistical techniques to develop a tactical demand forecast and replenishment plan supporting key product lines and/or customer segments.
2. Apply appropriate mathematical and statistical tools to resolve business issues.
3. Analyze data and make recommendations on increasing/decreasing inventory targets; establish ideal safety stock targets.
4. Analyze variances between actual and budgeted/forecasted activity.
5. Participate in inventory planning activities including, but not limited to, ownership and maintenance of supply planning models and/or ERP planning system.
6. Support monthly Sales and Operations Planning process efforts.
7. Partner with demand planning team and finance to track and control Excess and Obsolete Inventory levels.
8. Prepare purchasing and inventory forecasts and financial projections.
9. Partner with purchasing team to ensure monthly, quarterly purchasing and inventory plans are met.
10. Partner with Sales and Product Management team in the forecasting and coordination of both legacy products and new product launches and ensuring forecast/new product launches are properly input into planning models.
11. Proactively adjust forecast and replenishment strategies to optimize inventory investment.
12. Commit company resources to support new launches and initiatives.
13. Place purchase orders and negotiate changes with suppliers as needed.
14. Monitor incoming and outgoing shipments monthly, while tracking inventory levels.
15. Identify and correct Supply Chain constraints by acting as liaison between Sales, Customer Service and Suppliers.
16. Establish, maintain, report and analyze trends for Key Performance Indicators for forecast accuracy, demand variability, inventory, and backorder.
17. Develop an understanding of product family life cycles and perform trending analysis to determine proper inventory levels.
18. Drive process standardization.
19. Monitor inventory data integrity (e.g., receiving/inspection, cycle count accuracy).
20. Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

1. 2-3+ years procurement or supply planning experience.
2. Experience with SAP and PowerBi or similar forecasting tools are highly desirable.
3. Global Supply Chain experience a plus.
4. Formal problem-solving training desirable, i.e. Six Sigma.
5. Proficient in MS office suite (Excel, Access, Word). Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets; Strong system aptitude required.
6. Understanding of forecast and replenishment theory, obtained through APICS or similar training coursework.
7. Solid written and verbal communication skills, experience in a matrix environment desirable.
8. Strong analytical skills.
9. Solid knowledge and practical use of Forecasting and Inventory Planning tools; i.e. Logility, SAP, or equivalent.
