Position Overview:
The Supply Chain Director is responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end supply chain operations within the organization, ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of products and services to customers. This includes demand planning, procurement, logistics, inventory management, and distribution. The Director will report to the CEO and lead a team of supply chain professionals, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and develop strategies to optimize processes, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead, develop, and motivate the supply chain team to ensure high performance and alignment with organizational goals.
- Develop and implement short- and long-term supply chain strategies to support business objectives.
- Monitor and manage the end-to-end supply chain operations to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Procurement & Vendor Management:
- Oversee supplier relationships and manage the procurement of goods and services.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effective sourcing.
- Ensure the reliability and quality of suppliers and work on continuous improvements.
Inventory & Distribution Management:
- Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock, avoiding overstocking or stockouts.
- Develop and implement strategies for efficient warehouse and distribution operations.
- Optimize logistics processes, including transportation, to reduce lead times and transportation costs.
Demand Planning & Forecasting:
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to forecast demand and ensure product availability.
- Create and refine demand planning processes to meet customer needs while minimizing excess inventory.
- Use data-driven insights and technology tools to improve accuracy in forecasting.
Financial & Performance Management:
- Develop and manage the budget for the supply chain department.
- Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the performance of supply chain operations.
- Provide regular reports and analysis on supply chain performance and improvement opportunities.
Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies for supply chain disruptions, including contingency planning for natural disasters, market changes, and other potential risks.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
- Identify and implement process improvements across the supply chain to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Keep up to date with supply chain trends and technologies and incorporate innovative solutions to optimize operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience managing and optimizing end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, inventory management, distribution, and logistics.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP B1).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in global supply chain management.
- Expertise in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with various departments (e.g., sales, finance, operations).
