Job summary

Merck is seeking a Supply Chain Data Analyst to export, transform, and visualize data from MRP systems into Power BI dashboards. You will collaborate with stakeholders to deliver trusted insights and maintain data quality across dashboards.

Responsibilities include building and maintaining dashboards, ensuring data refresh, data validation, and developing ETL processes with SQL, Python, and DAX. Familiarity with Dataiku/DBT and data platforms is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Diploma in the relevant field with practical data analytics exposure.
• Strong SQL knowledge and data quality mindset required.

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Supply Chain Data Analyst to join our team. You will play a crucial role in exporting and transforming data from MRP systems into visually appealing and insightful Power BI dashboards. This role will support the design, development, automation, and maintenance of dashboards and data solutions used to drive data quality, supply chain visibility, and operational decision-making. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to transform data from source systems and data platforms into trusted, actionable insights. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a passion for leveraging data to optimize supply chain processes and deliver outstanding results.

Work scope

Dashboard Creation, Maintenance, and Performance Optimization

• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to transform supply chain reports into clear, insightful visuals.
• Ensure timely and accurate data refreshes, including troubleshooting refresh issues as needed.
• Validate data inputs, perform data quality checks, and resolve discrepancies to maintain dashboard reliability.
• Develop automation or refresh schedules to support data accuracy and availability.
• Maintain documentation for dashboards.
• Continuously identify opportunities to improve dashboard efficiency, streamline data management, enhance visualization techniques, and improve user experience.
• Stay current with the latest Power BI features and best practices to ensure dashboards remain effective and up to date.

Data Engineering

Leverage data marts for reporting and analytics, including the setup of supporting infrastructure for data extraction and integration.

Strong understanding of ETL Tools such as Dataiku, DBT, etc to ensure reliable and well-structured reporting data sources.

Apply expertise in SQL, DAX, M language for advanced reporting and data transformation and Python for Process Automation.

Have practical experience working with enterprise data platforms such as Data lakes, SQL databases, and data marts is preferred.

General Reporting and Analysis

• Prepare and deliver recurring reports in a timely and accurate manner.
• Perform report validation, cleanup, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and consistency of reported data.
• Engage with stakeholders to review reporting outputs, align on assumptions, and address reporting requirements.
• Provide clear explanations of key movements, trends, and related queries.

Project Management

Play a key role in project management and execution for enhancements and future dashboard requirements to meet evolving business needs. This includes coordinating with stakeholders, gathering requirements, creating project plans, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring timely and successful project delivery.

Coordinate and communicate project status updates. Foster effective communication channels to keep all stakeholders informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle.

Cross functional collaboration to achieve optimum effectiveness

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by actively participating in projects aimed at enhancing supply chain processes, data management, and operational efficiency.

Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to drive process improvements and support business goals.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor in Supply Chain/Logistics, Data Analytics / Data Science or a related field.
• Diploma in Supply Chain/Logistics, Data Analytics / Data Science with 2 to 3 years of relevant working experience.
• Strong knowledge of SQL is preferred.
• Knowledge of Python, DAX & M language is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of ETL Tools to support automation and dashboard developments.
• Experience in supply chain operations is preferred.
• Basic understanding of MRP/ERP systems such as SAP & Maestro is preferred
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work well within a team and independently when required
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
• Positive, proactive, and can-do attitude
• Eager to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes
