A leading retail company in Singapore is seeking a Demand & Supply Planning Assistant Manager to oversee demand forecasting and optimize inventory management across stores. Ideal candidates should have a degree in Supply Chain or Logistics and at least 3 years of relevant experience. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel are essential, along with excellent communication abilities. You will lead a team and drive supply chain projects to enhance operational efficiency.
About the role:
As the Demand & Supply Planning Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for all forecasting activities to create an accurate demand forecast mid-long term for our Food Businesses. In this role, you will also support the Demand & Supply Planning Manager to lead IBP with DC, Store and Commercial team for OOS, SMS review and KPI reporting, lead improvement on vendor fulfilment, and projects.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the full order cycle from supplier coordination to delivery across all stores.
Ensure strong on-shelf availability and optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing excess stock.
Collaborate with Demand Planners for weekly forecasting and develop allocation plans to stores.
Secure stock for promotional periods and festive events by working with flow-through suppliers.
Lead timely replenishment of perishable SKUs and improve service levels across van sales and DSP vendors.
Partner with Commercial and Distribution teams to manage promotions, new launches, excess, and discontinued stock exit strategies.
Plan for timely clearance of slow-moving items.
Monitor and analyze KPIs to drive performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions.
Manage relationships with upscale indent vendors and ensure smooth order fulfilment.
Ensure compliance with audit requirements and internal processes, reporting exceptions where necessary.
Lead and coach a team, set goals, provide feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
Support and lead supply chain projects to improve operational efficiency.
Generate weekly reports to assess vendor service levels and identify improvement opportunities.
Apply data-driven insights to improve replenishment strategies, considering lead times, delivery frequency, MOQs, and cost factors.
About You
Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related discipline
Min 3 years of experience in supply chain or inventory/replenishment roles
Strong in forecasting, inventory planning, and supply chain concepts
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Effective communicator with good negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Experience with Power BI, Power Query, or similar analytical tools (advantageous)
Working knowledge of SAP and retail DC operations (preferred)
