Job summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

Department: Quality Assurance

Report to: Head of Supplier Quality Engineering section

Functional Relationships with: Quality Assurance & Control division

  • Quality Control department
  • In-process Quality Assurance department
  • Quality Assurance department

POSITION PROFILE:

Based in: Singapore

Job site: Tuas

The successful candidate will:

  • Manage, monitor, and assure the quality of incoming parts.
  • Handle part quality issues and deploy effective corrective and preventive measures.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Verify and ensure all parts are fit for use promptly, resolving supplier-related quality issues to maintain a continuous supply of quality parts.
  • Analyze part data and supplier performance to identify risks and develop improvement plans.
  • Train technicians to effectively detect and prevent issues with incoming materials.
  • Audit and qualify suppliers and parts, and develop supplier development plans.
  • Verify suppliers’ quality systems and processes for conformance.
  • Review and improve SQE workflows, processes, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage inspection processes and ensure a safe and efficient operating environment.
  • Maintain SQE equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Lead a small team of technicians to ensure effective operations.
  • Maintain and update SQE-related ISO documentation periodically.
  • Support investigations and generate reports as needed.

ABILITY/COMPETENCY REQUIRED:

  • Degree in Science (materials, chemistry, physics) or Engineering (mechanical, materials, chemical, quality, manufacturing).
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience in plastic injection molding and/or metal stamping is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks, JMP, Minitab is beneficial.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
