As a QC Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and leading a team of QC Lab associates from the Finished Production Inspection team to perform inspection and testing of products to meet quality standards according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), as well as any applicable federal regulations or industry standards.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  1. Monitoring Product Quality Compliance: Ensuring compliance with Quality and HSE procedures during sampling, QC tests, and product release.
  2. Establishing SOPs and conditions for handling, storage, and preservation of samples for testing.
  3. Issuing, conducting NCR and OOS investigations as a certified investigator, identifying root causes, and determining appropriate CAPA. Ensuring all TW records are closed timely.
  4. Analyzing testing results and the frequency and severity of product defects and quality lapses.
  5. Approving testing documentation and test records.
  6. Guiding testing activities to ensure correct procedures, conditions, and processes are used.
  7. Managing Laboratory Operations: Maintaining integrity, accuracy, and completeness of QC data and records.
  8. Meeting quality objectives set by management and complying with Alcon, QMS, and Safety requirements.
  9. Providing direction and supervision to direct reports, conducting career dialogues, and following up on individual development plans. Ensuring backups for all roles and responsibilities.
  10. Planning, leading, and controlling all quality inspection and testing activities to ensure compliance with local SOP, Alcon standards, and regulatory requirements.
  11. Monitoring key performance indicators to ensure operational effectiveness and executing improvement initiatives.
  12. Implementing changes such as GCM change requests, SOP revisions, impact assessments, and go-live plans.
  13. Leading and executing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost optimization.
  14. Supporting internal and external audits and responsible for closing audit findings.
  15. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure operational continuity.
  16. Ensuring Quality and HSE compliance per Alcon guidelines and maintaining zero HSE incidents.
  17. Acting as Support Auditor for cross-functional audits as required.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • A degree in Chemistry or related science or engineering field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a quality control lab within the pharma/medical industry.
  • Supervisory experience overseeing technicians/inspectors.
  • Transport provided from Boon Lay, Outram Park, and Kranji MRT stations.
