Responsibilities
Management
Provides immediate supervision to semi-skilled support team members
Assigns tasks and monitors work at frequent intervals. Maintains schedules and workflow of the team
Manages personnel details to include salaries, positioning, hire/fire, reviews, coaching and training
Provide guidance and escalation support for complex issues and emergencies
Project / Infrastructure Site Management
Plans, coordinates, budgets, and implements resources to complete projects and maintenance within the datacenters. Executes specified routine tasks. Meets unit targets typically against a weekly plan
Provides input and guidance towards budget
Overall site capacity supervision
Vendor Management
Oversees contractor work and operations to ensure completion to Equinix's required standards
Manage third-party vendors performing installations, maintenance, and testing
Ensure compliance with Equinix standards, safety protocols, and documentation practices
Technical Expertise
Apply deep knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems in a data center setting
Stay current on industry best practices and emerging technologies
Assists with start up tests, documenting and reporting all problems
Incident Management
Communicates and coordinates activities and on-site staff during an incident
Qualifications
Typical Degree & Years of Experience
Minimum of 5 years of related experience or equivalent work experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, safety protocols, and emergency procedures
