Job summary

Csk Construction and Engineering is seeking experienced tilers to join its on-site team in Singapore. The role involves cutting and shaping tiles to fit around obstacles, forming tile beds, and ensuring precise alignment and finishes across wall and floor surfaces.

Responsibilities include installing and polishing granite and marble, applying mosaic designs, surface preparation with waterproofing materials, and careful tile tapping to avoid damage. Prior tiling experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in tiling (relevant to construction).
• Ability to cut and shape tiles to fit around obstacles and corners.
• Form tile beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue or mortar with screeds, brushes and trowels.
• Align tiles with straightedges, levels and squares for even patterns.
• Prepare surfaces with waterproofing materials or lath as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install and align wall and floor tiles following blueprints and layouts.
• Cut, install, polish and surface granite and marble as required.
• Create decorative wall and floor designs with mosaic tiles in kitchens, bathrooms and living areas.
• Tap tiles into place carefully to ensure proper adhesion and avoid breakage.
• Repair cracked or loose tiles and remove old tiles when required.

Job description

• Relevant tiling experience in construction.
• Cut tiles and shape them properly to ensure they fit around obstacles and in tight corners and odd spaces using power and hand tools.
• Form tile beds using concrete, plaster, mastic, cement, glue or mortar utilizing tools such as screeds, brushes and trowels
• Align tiles and straighten them with straightedges, levels and squares to ensure patterns are even and precise
• Cut, install, polish and surface granite and marble and ensure accuracy during the installation process for lasting results
• Prepare various surfaces for tiling with waterproofing material or lath and by cleaning the surfaces properly
• Create decorative wall and floor designs by laying and setting mosaic tiles in kitchens, bathrooms and living rooms
• Tap tiles into place carefully using tools to properly adhere tiles to the base, making sure not to break or damage tiles
• Follow blueprints precisely and mark and measure surfaces that need to be tiled to determine how to go about jobs.
• Basic knowledge of tile, adhesive and grout materials. Repair cracked or loose tiles, remove old tiles when required.
