A local employment service provider in Singapore is seeking a candidate to support After-School Engagement programmes for at-risk students. The role involves planning activities, monitoring student attendance, and working closely with teachers. Candidates should have a Diploma in Counselling or Social Work and at least 2 years of experience working with children. Strong interpersonal skills and empathy for students are essential.

Qualifications

Job description
Overview

Contract Period: From 1 Jan 2026 to 31 Dec 2026.

Working hours:

  • Mondays to Thursdays: 8:30am to 5:30pm, inclusive of 0.5hr lunch break
  • Fridays: 8:30am to 5:00pm, inclusive of 0.5hr lunch break
  • Total working hours per week: 42 hours
  • Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
Scope of Services
  • Support After-School Engagement (ASE) programmes for identified high needs students. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • a. Academic Support Programme
    • b. Mentoring Programmes
    • c. Interest-based Experiential Elective Programmes
  • Engage the students during their recess, lunch and after-school hours daily through mentoring and free play to build rapport.
  • Work with form teachers and subject teachers closely to understand the students’ profile and needs.
  • Monitor students’ attendance in the ASE programmes and document observations as feedback for teachers.
  • Provide academic support as part of re-integration for students returning to school after long term absences.
  • Plan for and carry out activities during the school holidays (March, June, September and November/December) to engage the high needs students.
  • Other duties
    • a. Any other duties as assigned by School Leaders, HOD Student Development, SH Student Well-Being or Administration Manager.
    • b. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the classrooms and facilities used for ASE programmes.
Qualifications, skills and experience
  • Shall be registered with the Ministry of Education and shall remain registered with the Ministry of Education throughout the Contract Period.
  • Should preferably have Diploma in Counselling, Social Work or its equivalent
  • Should preferably have 2 years of experience working with children in primary schools
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passion and disposition to work with at-risk students
  • Empathy for students with social, emotional and mental health difficulties
  • Possess good working attitude and be willing to learn, not afraid to take up new challenges
