This role is responsible for identifying and supporting at-risk students through early intervention strategies, providing academic skills development, ensuring academic integrity, managing academic misconduct processes, and addressing general misconduct matters in accordance with policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Early Intervention & Student Support
- Monitor academic performance, attendance, and engagement to identify at-risk students.
- Develop tailored “Pathway to Success” plans and ensure consistent follow-up.
- Track and support students on Conditional or Reprieved status, including enrolment in required support programs
- Manage and update access to the StudyKiosk support portal.
- Collaborate with faculty, assessments, and other departments to report and monitor student progress.
Academic Skills & Integrity Education
- Provide one-on-one or group academic skills support, including writing, referencing, and exam strategies.
- Deliver academic integrity workshops (covering plagiarism, paraphrasing, use of Gen AI, time management).
- Assist students with understanding breaches and conduct confirmation or inquiry sessions.
Academic & General Misconduct Management
- Handle academic and general misconduct in line policies.
- Review, process, and document misconduct cases; communicate outcomes sensitively.
- Advise staff and students on conduct expectations and maintain confidentiality at all times.
Academic Status & Appeals
- Support students through academic appeals and provide guidance on procedures.
- Collect documentation and prepare for academic status review meetings.
- Participate in Board of Examiners meetings and update student management systems accordingly.
- Notify parents/guardians on minor students’ academic progress where relevant.
Stakeholder Engagement & Policy Review
- Liaise with other support services (e.g. counselling, financial aid) for holistic support.
- Assist with policy review, code of conduct communication, and preparation for audits or regulator reviews.
- Collaborate with campuses for consistent case handling and quality assurance.
Requirement
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
- Relevant experience in student support services, academic skills development, or academic integrity management
