Overview

The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service (GRIT@Gov) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.

The trainee will be part of Singapore Polytechnic’s Department of Student Development, supporting initiatives that promote holistic student growth through sports & wellness and overseas engagement. The role provides hands-on experience in programme administration, event coordination and student engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Gain exposure to large-scale wellness and sports operations in an education setting.
  • Develop coordination and event management skills across diverse student activities.
  • Strengthen administrative and logistical planning capabilities.
  • Learn stakeholder and vendor management.
  • Build communication, teamwork and problem-solving competencies in a dynamic environment.
  • Provide administrative and logistics support for the Wellness for Life (WFL) module, including lesson coordination, attendance tracking and operations.
  • Assist in sports administration by coordinating sign-ups, managing attendance, arranging logistics and facilities and supporting events and competitions.
  • Support overseas programmes (outbound and inbound) by handling logistics such as facilities, transportation, accommodation and catering arrangements.
  • Assist in student club administration, including facilities booking, clubroom inspections and coordination of club activities.
  • Undertake other assigned administrative duties to support departmental operations and events.
Requirements
  • Internship or project experience related to administration, event coordination or student activities.
  • Coursework or exposure in programme planning, logistics management or customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for reporting and communication.
  • Demonstrated teamwork, communication and organisational skills through academic or co-curricular projects.
  • Participation in school, community or volunteer initiatives involving coordination or stakeholder engagement.
