About the role

We are seeking a motivated and caring individual to join our team as a Student Care Officer (Mandarin-speaking). We have islandwide locations available and the selected individual shall be based in a school-based student care centre. The individual is required to deliver high-quality care and supervision to children in our after-school student care programme.

What you'll be doing

  1. Supervising and engaging children in a range of activities, including homework assistance, recreational play, and educational projects

  2. Ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all children in your care

  3. Communicating effectively with parents and guardians to provide updates and address any concerns

  4. Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to the children's attendance, progress, and any incidents

  5. Collaborating with colleagues to plan and implement engaging and age-appropriate activities

  6. Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

What we're looking for

  1. Bilingual in both English and Chinese, as the incumbent will need to be able to guide the students with their Chinese homework and spelling as well.

  2. A relevant qualification in childcare, education, or a related field

  3. Experience working with children in a student care or educational setting will be advantageous

  4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and their families

  5. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

  6. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the development and well-being of children

  7. A team player who can work collaboratively with colleagues
