Job summary

ZET ENGINEERING PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a skilled fabricator to read structural steel drawings and fabricate components. You will measure, mark, cut, drill, bend, and fit-up parts, ensuring accurate alignment before welding while supporting welders and engineers to deliver precise steel structures.

Maintain tools and a clean, safe workspace, adhere to PPE and safety policies, and collaborate with teammates to meet project requirements and quality expectations.

Qualifications

• Ability to read structural steel drawings and fabrication plans.
• Proficiency with measuring, marking, cutting, drilling, bending and fitting components.
• Experience in aligning parts and performing tack welding as needed.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret structural steel drawings, blueprints, and fabrication plans.
• Measure, mark, cut, drill, bend, and prepare steel materials.
• Fabricate and assemble beams, columns, frames, brackets, supports, and other steel structures.
• Perform accurate steel fitting and alignment before welding.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, cutting machines, drills, grinders, and other fabrication equipment.
• Carry out tack welding and assist welders with proper fit-up where required.
• Check dimensions, levels, angles, alignment, and tolerances to ensure quality standards are met.
• Use lifting equipment and follow proper material-handling procedures.
• Identify fabrication defects and make necessary adjustments or corrections.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean and safe work area.
• Follow workplace safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.
• Work effectively with welders, supervisors, engineers, and other team members.
