Job summary

AECOM Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to design and review structural systems for buildings and infra projects. You will perform analyses, supervise site execution, and coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliant, efficient outcomes.

The role requires a degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, strong design software skills (STAAD Pro, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Revit), and good communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural engineering or related field.
• PE registration or equivalent is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of structural codes and construction best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review structural designs, calculations, drawings, and specs for buildings and infrastructure.
• Conduct structural analysis using industry-standard software.
• Perform site inspections and monitor construction to ensure compliance with designs and specs.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and other disciplines to resolve issues and optimize outcomes.
• Review and approve method statements, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore Building Code and project requirements.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for management and stakeholders.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers.
• Identify and resolve design/construction challenges in a timely manner.
• Collaborate on innovative solutions and continuous improvement.

Job Description

• Develop and review structural designs, calculations, drawings, and technical specifications for buildings and infrastructure projects
• Conduct comprehensive structural analysis using industry-standard software and methodologies
• Perform site inspections and monitor structural construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs and project specifications
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues and optimize project outcomes
• Review and approve method statements, material submittals, shop drawings, and other technical submissions
• Ensure all structural works comply with Singapore Building Code, relevant standards, and project requirements
• Prepare detailed technical reports, recommendations, and documentation for project management and stakeholders
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineering team members
• Identify, analyze, and resolve structural design and construction challenges in a timely and efficient manner
• Collaborate with the team to implement innovative solutions and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in structural engineering, design, and construction projects
• Strong proficiency in structural analysis and design software (STAAD Pro, SAP2000, or equivalent)
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or similar platforms)
• Solid knowledge of structural codes, standards, specifications, and construction best practices
• Experience with site supervision, inspection, and quality control on construction projects
• Excellent communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented approach
• Ability to work effectively in collaborative, multidisciplinary team environments
• Professional Engineering (PE) registration or equivalent professional certification (preferred)
• Experience with large-scale construction or infrastructure projects (preferred)
• Familiarity with Singapore Building Code and local regulatory requirements (preferred)
• Previous experience with engineering consultancy firms (preferred)Project management experience (preferred)
