Job description

• Two (2) Positions available: Junior or Senior Role

• BASIC SALARY: of $5,000(JUNIOR) to $9,000 (SENIOR)

• Working location: North-East (Tai Seng)

• 5 days’ work week (8.30am to 6pm)

• Civil & Structural (Industrial / Commercial / Building Project)

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic design leadership & design development:

• Lead and manage the structural and civil design scope of projects from conceptual and during the construction stage.

• Perform detailed structural analysis and design calculations for reinforced concrete and steel structures, ensuring compliance with Eurocodes, local codes (SS EN), and project specifications

• Prepare, review and analyse design submissions, drawings, specifications

• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams including architectural, M&E, and construction teams to resolve design-related issues

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to design engineers

• Engage with authorities and professional agencies for design submission and approval processes.

• Perform structural modeling and analysis using industry-standard software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SAP2000), ensuring full compliance with relevant codes, standards, and environmental considerations, contributing to comprehensive design solutions.

• Engage with Consultants for Project and Tender deliveries.

• Prepare detailed design inputs and calculations for the Tender team, contributing to the accuracy of project bids.

• Support in value engineering, optimisation of the designs and resolving technical issues to facilitate construction

• Provide practical design insights to the Tender and Project teams, aiding in the development of workable and competitive solutions during the tender and project phases.

• Construction Phase & Site Engagement: review drawings and calculations, attend project design meetings (as and when required)

Integrated Tender & Project Coordination & Liaison:

• Strong working knowledge of BCA codes, SS EN, and submission procedures

• Good understanding of buildability, constructability, and safety-in-design principles

• Include ad-hoc site inspections (when required) and respond to RFI and technical clarifications during the construction phase

• Attend site meetings and assist in resolving technical site issues

Requirements:

Junior Engineers:

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in building or infrastructure projects.

Senior Engineers:

• 5+ years of experience in structural or C&S design, preferably in industrial/commercial building projects.

• Strong leadership, coordination, and mentoring skills.

• Proficiency in design software and good working knowledge of local codes and submission processes.
